Excellent for long beach walks
The 1400-meter stretch of fine sand with surrounding forest and minimal development is ideal for extended walks any.
Note the designated nudist area
The northern section beyond the central area is a nudist beach.
Visit on weekdays for solitude
The beach is completely empty during the week, but Sundays bring local crowds less welcoming to tourists.
Expect strong winds and waves
Swimming is difficult due to rough conditions, and the beach is windy enough that visitors without shelter find it uncomfortable.
Watch for Portuguese man-of-war jellyfish
