What we collect, and what we do not
Right Beaches is a public directory. You do not need an account and there is nothing to log in to.
How we count visits
We use Simple Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. It records the page, the country and where the visit came from, and nothing that identifies a person. That is why this site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
Requests your browser makes
Tide, water temperature, waves and weather are fetched by your browser when you open a beach page, from NOAA and Open-Meteo. Those services see the request and the coordinates of the beach you are looking at. We do not send them anything about you.
If you press Use my location in the finder, your browser asks your permission first and the coordinates stay in your browser. They are used to sort the list and are not sent to us or stored.
If you send us something
The correction form asks for an email address only if you want a reply. It is used for that reply and nothing else, it is never published, and it is not added to a mailing list. Everything else you send may be used to correct the site.
What we never publish
We count what visitors report in public reviews and publish the counts and the years they span. We never republish the review text itself, and we do not publish anything that identifies a reviewer.
