Guide

Good to know

Come for peace and solitude
The difficult access and minimal facilities keep crowds away, offering a quiet cove experience.
Visit for the waterfall, not swimming
A small waterfall flows into the cove and is most dramatic after rain.
Wear sturdy shoes for rocky terrain
The beach is almost entirely pebbles and large rocks with minimal sand, making bare feet uncomfortable.
Expect very tight parking and access
Only 3-4 parking spaces available, and the descent involves narrow steep stairs with at least one section reportedly.
Time your visit around low tide
At high tide, the beach becomes even smaller and rockier, limiting the already constrained usable space.

Questions

Common questions

How far is the walk to the water at Playa de Salencia?
10 m in a straight line from the listing to the mapped shoreline, under a minute. Soft sand and dune make the real walk longer than the straight line.
Does Playa de Salencia have restrooms?
No restrooms are mapped within 600 m on OpenStreetMap. That means nobody has mapped any, which is not the same as there being none.

Measured from OpenStreetMap, public aerial imagery and live conditions data, and counted from visitor reviews. Every source, in full.
