At low tide the flats recede far, creating shallow areas and tidal pools ideal for small children to play.
Arrive before 1pm on weekdays
Parking fills up by afternoon and weekends, especially in summer, though free marked spots exist on the roadside.
Dogs allowed only 9pm to 9am
The restriction is posted mainly at the main entrance, not at all beach access points.
Tide changes rapidly here
The lifeguard will warn you when the tide comes in quickly.
