Guide

Good to know

Visit at low tide
The beach widens considerably and reveals a hidden cave accessible only when the tide recedes.
Visit in early September for quiet
The beach is very popular and crowded in peak season but noticeably peaceful in early September.
Prepare for a steep climb out
The path down is manageable but returning uphill requires good physical fitness or you will struggle.
Book the beach bar ahead
The bar requires reservations for lunch or dinner and cannot accommodate walk-ins.
Expect rocky terrain
The beach is mostly pebbles and rocks with only a small sandy area, so walking is uncomfortable without proper footwear.

Questions

Common questions

Where do you park at Playa de Cueva?
The nearest mapped parking area is 250 m from the listed location. Positions come from OpenStreetMap, not from review text.
How far is the walk to the water at Playa de Cueva?
20 m in a straight line from the listing to the mapped shoreline, under a minute. Soft sand and dune make the real walk longer than the straight line.
Does Playa de Cueva have restrooms?
No restrooms are mapped within 600 m on OpenStreetMap. That means nobody has mapped any, which is not the same as there being none.

Measured from OpenStreetMap, public aerial imagery and live conditions data, and counted from visitor reviews. Every source, in full.
